Meet Stephanie – Tonight’s Life Drawing Model @grovehousetavern_

A brilliant and dynamic presence, Stephanie brings energy, focus, and creativity to every session, and we’re delighted to welcome her back tonight.

Originally from Melbourne and now based in London, she is a movement director, teacher, and performer specialising in physical theatre and interdisciplinary performance. Her work spans collaborations with artists across film, visual art, and music, driven by a passion for creative and cultural exchange.

Detch is a dynamic and expressive model who brings a unique blend of calm, warmth, and creative energy to every session. Outside the studio, she works as an occupational therapist with a special focus on horticulture, using nature to foster community and connection. When Detch last modelled for us—crutches and all following surgery—her presence was as powerful and inspiring as ever. We’re v excited to have her back with us this evening.

NEXT Wednesday @grovehousetavern_ we are very excited to have @alemrt717 modelling for us for the first time.

Passionate about art from different angles, Alessio loves both drawing and modeling at life drawing classes. His practice as a life model is constantly inspired by his strong interest in Art History, Roman and Greek statues.

After attending life drawing classes some years ago, he started to life model and approached this as a therapeutic exercise for both his body and mental well-being, and a way to express himself. He continues to bring art directly onto his body through ink, covered in different styles of black and white tattoos, to bring to the surface emotions and frames of mind.

Emily - @em.mariarob - is a northern movement practitioner, community weaver, and curious explorer of the body’s wisdom.

Inspired by the rhythms and intelligence of the natural world, her practice explores the capacities we hold to sustain inner awareness while tending to and responding to the outer world. She views presence as something devotional and a fundamental force for change

Previously involved with Collective of Pleasure in Hackney, Emily is passionate about breaking down shame and stigma to make space for curiosity. Her work invites reverence, reclamation, and radical softness. Life modelling feels like a natural extension of this: an offering of stillness, vulnerability, and shared seeing.

She is currently in the process of building @margatemovementcollective - an interdisciplinary space for exchange and body minded movers.
